About the Author...
Dr. Ananda W.P. Guruge is now the Dean of Academic Affairs and Director of the International Academy of Buddhism at University of the West. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Ceylon. Dr. Guruge has authored 40 books, including a biography of King Asoka entitled Asoka the Righteous: A Definitive Biography and What in Brief is Buddhism? and over 150 research papers. A former Sri Lankan Ambassador to France and to the United States, Dr. Guruge is proficient in English, Sinhala, French, Pali, Sanskrit, Tamil and Hindi.
